The Crooked Sixpence by Jennifer Bell
4.0
This took a while to get into--I am reading this aloud to my son and the beginning has a bit of a set up. However, once I started listening to the audiobook for myself, I found myself much more engaged. It helped that I really like the narrator.
I really like the premise of this book, similar to Harry Potter, that there is a "magical" world that coexists unknowingly with the regular world. In this case, it isn't really magic, but instead uncommon objects--or objects infused with a spirit that then imbues unique properties.
I am definitely interested in reading more in the series.
