I think this is one of the books that I have been wanting to read since I got on Goodreads back in 2012. A lot of the reviewers I follow on here and on YouTube fawn over this book. Don't believe the hype, this didn't live up to expectation at all. I actually found myself skimming over a lot of the monologue (because when a book is written in letter format, there's a lot of monologue). The descriptions of the Australian outback were repetitive and monotonous, and just when the books was getting interesting (relationship forming between captive and captor) the rug was pulled out from under you. This is a definite pass for anyone I know that might be interested in this book.
