An Echo in the Sorrow by Hailey Turner

3.0

3.5 stars. I’m very ready for this series to be over. Since probably around the second book, I’ve really only been reading for Jono and Patrick, and that’s still the case. There’s still too many gods involved from too many different cultures and too much going on at once to make a solid, cohesive story. It’s dragged on for a long time. If the series had only focused on the Greek pantheon and had been condensed down to fewer books, I think it would’ve been a lot more enjoyable to me. But this one did have more of an interesting plot that I liked - it was more intense and high-stakes than the last few books, and I really hope I give the conclusion to this series at least four stars when it comes out in October. Since I’ve been sticking with it and choosing to continue the books, I want the finale to be exciting and actually wow me, show me that I’ve been hanging on for a reason. For now, though, the only reason I continue to read these books is because of the romance - I wish there was more of it. (But Jono is still so aggressively British that I really just can’t with it sometimes.)
