What a gorgeous gem.
Growing up in that era and recognising the references was a delight. But where we lived in that time, things weren't like this, which must be why it's set in the US.
This journey of self-discovery starting from a place of self-hatred for three (at least) teens, and growing and learning and trusting and changing was delicious and raw and honest.
Very relatable and I wish books like this had existed at the time.
