What an adventure. This story has so much depth and I loved reading it. There were moments of slight cheesiness but it was so good overall.
I loved these characters and found myself both laughing and tensing alongside them.
The end literally had me gasping out loud and trying to read faster to see what was going to happen next. The cliff hanger hurt me and I'm glad that I didn't read this book before book two was out.
I'm a lover of fantasy, pirates, and some romance (where it doesn't feel too cheesy) and this scratched all of those itches.
