I liked this book and really enjoy Miller as an author. I read Circe first and was absolutely sold by her style of writing. She gives amazing descriptions and uses such magical language to put you in the scenery. 
But I thought I would be more gripped by this story. I think I expected more spicy scenes between Achilles and Patroclus because of the quotes from other people on the books cover. I thought I would

be more devasted or even cry at each death but I was left flat

 
I also wasn’t in a rush to pick up this book and would have finished it faster so this is a tell tell sign to me that I thought it was a good book. Not as good as Circe IMO
