The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

3.0

3.5⭐

This book has been circulating around booktok and bookstagram for months now and when I got my hands on it, I knew I wanted to read it in October for the spooky effect.

6 years ago, Alicia but no one knows why. She has remained silent all of these years. Many psychotherapists have tried to help her but all failed. When Theo hears about a job opening at The Grove, the place where Alicia is at, he is determined to get the job and be her therapist to get her to speak. But why is Theo so determined to help Alicia when he has his own problems?

This book is a bit difficult to rate since I have mixed feelings. I enjoyed reading it but it took me over 200 pages to really get into the book itself. I liked how we got to see Theo speaking to all those people connected to Alicia to find things out. To be honest, each and every character was insane and crazy and no one can tell me otherwise. What happened to Alicia to get her to do such a thing was heartbreaking because I don't know one human who would be sane after hearing those words, especially twice. The chapters were quite short and I like that. To me the ending was and still is sooooooooooo confusing. I definitely didn't see that coming that's for sure.

If you want to read a thriller that won't scare you and isn't really gruesome, tjis is perfect for the spooky season.
