”I can’t call Mercedes. She might take this as an opportunity to pull me into her cutlery cult.”

After finishing Forked and concluded that overall, it was fun and hilarious, I wanted to continue with the series.
Spooned surprised me by how the story advanced and nears a full circle of the three magical cutlery set, but also how the story is different in so many ways.
The focus now is on Cheryl and Jack and the dynamic between the two of them was far more enjoyable than Mercedes and Hugh. Cheryl has so many doubts and thinks Mercedes is in a somewhat cult and losing her mind, until she gives up and tries to see for herself if she can be attached to a spoon. Jack’s backstory and his character development was sad, tragic and made me more invested in the story, since I had so many questions about their mission and what happened in their final day, before being transformed in cutlery.
The dialogue is dynamic and fun and I felt that there was a real chemistry between the new main characters. There were situations that made me laugh so much.
The volumes are very well connected, because Mercedes and Hugh are present in the plot and honestly I can’t wait for the next volume, since things got a little bit shady and it ENDED ON A CLIFFHAGER – OMG – I want to know what happens next!

”Fear is something I’ve never allowed myself, but my heart is racing.”
