The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins

1.0

suzanne, i am so disappointed in you.

the snow narration is flat, boring, annoying and emotionless ; makes it really difficult to feel involved in the characters, the story and the horrors occurring. lucy gray's personality barely exists, knowing her is mostly a guessing game. by the way, im not sure why she's never called just "lucy". the writing is just AWFUL. sejanus is the only character i actually cared for, he would have deserved his own pov thought.

a book about the early hunger games and the first district 12 victor is totally something that might have worked with a multi pov book but here? with only snow pov? no. this isn't the story of lucy gray. this isn't the story of the rise and fall of a artistic girl who wanted to be free. this isn't a story about rebellion. it's a story about snow's ascension and who the fuck wanna read this?? not me.
