Sweet Rivalry by K. Bromberg

5.0

Harper Denton is fantasizing about a man she hasn’t even met yet. But then she realizes that’s not necessarily true. Ryder Rodgers is seeing someone from his past who may or may not be happy to see him. And put them in constant contact with each other makes for some great tension.

The author does a great job at creating a story that builds on that anticipation and tension. And that’s why you’ll keep turning the page – where is the author taking this? What does she have in store for these nemeses? One thing I loved about both the author and the book was that you don’t need a lot of sex to have a hot and sexy read.

Just like any relationship, things take time to develop. The story is the important part because as a reader you want to feel the connection between the main characters. I had no trouble feeling that here. Harper may have some animosity toward Ryder but you see that change over time. It surprised me how short this story was. It certainly doesn’t read as if it’s only 120 pages long – you certainly get your money’s worth with this one. And it shows that this author knows how to please her readers. If you’re looking for something short, steamy and romantic; you have that here in spades. For me, the ending left things up in the air. Does the reader come up with his or her own ending? Will we see these two characters at another time? The only thing I can do is to continue following Ms. Bromberg in order to see what other works she comes out with.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
