So I have been super ill lately. Like SO stupidly ill that I’ve barely left bed for two weeks.

I got to a point where I couldn’t even bring myself to read by TBR, I had a bunch of fantasy/romantasy books lined up and a few ARCs to get through and my brain could just not take anything in. I thought to myself that I needed some bubblegum, I wanted a cheesy squishy romance that would make me feel all warm and fuzzy and require zero effort.

I’ve had Elsie Silver’s Chestnut Springs series sat on my shelf for so long and never gotten round to them. When I tell you THIS WAS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED I mean it with my whole heart.

It’s funny, it’s silly, it’s cute, it’s full of beautiful landscapes and a sexy cowboy I mean you cannot fault the vibes here. I loved Summer and really enjoyed her arc of discovering her wants matter too and putting herself first. Yeah some bits are super cringey but we forgive the sins of fluffy romance novels because we are literally just girls out here.

If you want to read something that just feels like a hug, that will make you happy and kick your feeties a few times then this is the one.
