Across the Universe by Beth Revis
2.0
I had high hopes for this book since it was recommended to me by a regular patron, but unfortunately it suffered from "I have read this before." This book reminded me of several other dystopian books I have read over the past two years which leads mt to wonder if I might have liked it more if it was my first from this genre. Also, the story has two narrators, Amy and Elder, and while I typically like this I did not think it helped the story. The author switches back and forth too often for my taste and almost every chapter ends on a cliff hanger that you have to wait for through the other narrator.
Teens who loved Matched or The Hunger Games and want more will probably enjoy this, but it is not spectacular.
