For three books I've wondered what the deal was with the evil Mr. Rees, Sr. To say he's an evil piece of work is putting it mildly. Then there was the new evil that just showed up making you want to rip it's hair out from the roots. These evil forces fuel this epic tale where two people must fight for love.

Reading the prologue made me sure I was going to hate Vaughn for most of the book. Surprisingly, I forgave him pretty early on. I've loved the pairing of Tyra and Vaughn since the beginning. Even when he kept saying they were temporary and could never be. I knew that Love and B.B. Reid Always find a way!

Vaughn and Tyra's story has unusual challenges, friendship, family, heat, sweetness, and wonderful surprises. Tyra is sassy, intelligent, beautiful and a bit shy but fierce when she needs to be. Vaughn is protective, devoted, hot and a possessive jerk when he (feels/thinks) needs to be. They're the perfect compliment to each other.

I Loved The Prince and the Pawn, just as I have loved each book in the When Rivals Play Series! B.B. Reid outdoes herself with each book. She creates a family of unique and engaging characters who draw you into their world and make you never want to leave. Because this is the final book of the series that is especially true. I wanted to devour every page quickly to experience Tyra and Vaughn's journey, while still wanting to go slowly so that series didn't end. The fabulous yet hilarious ending was perfect! It does what all great epilogues do; Gives a small glimpse beyond "The End" for characters who have come to hold a place in your heart, and sparks the hope that you might see them again someday.

I can't wait to see where Ms. Reid takes us next! I KNOW it will be a new world filled with new characters who steal our hearts!
