I read this for the first time as an adult and it was an interesting look at human nature. It felt very plausible, which is telling, since it was so horrific. Especially with them being kids. I loved all the symbolism throughout. I think it was especially poignant reading it in today's society and political climate, as we seem to be moving more towards the uncivilized, tyrannical, and mob-mentality side of things. This was written so long ago, but these themes have played out many times throughout history. I can see why this is a good book to analyze in school! Definitely a book everyone should read at least once.
