God of Ruin by Rina Kent
3.0

Oh my god, can I just scream about how this is the third consecutive year I’m starting my year in Rina’s universe? I’ve been with these characters since 2022, and it feels like coming home. They’ve been a part of my life for so long now, and each year, Rina somehow manages to pull me even deeper into their world. I don’t know how she does it, but I’m so glad she does.

God of Ruin is everything! Let me just say, Aiden King has always been THE standard for me—the way he loves? It’s absolutely out of this world, soul-consuming, and pure devotion. But then comes Landon…and Rina Kent really said, "Let me shake things up," because WOW. Landon is brutal, calculated, protective to the core, and so unapologetically himself. His love is this fierce, obsessive force, and I am living for it!

And can we talk about the little snippets of their parents—Rai and Kyle, Astrid and Levi? Rina gave us just enough to remind us how much we adore them and their badassery. Their presence added this warmth and depth that perfectly balanced all the chaos. And the friendships? Pure gold. The dynamics in this group are unmatched; their loyalty and banter are the kind that makes you want to be part of their world.

But what really melted me was Lan’s relationship with his Uncle Aiden. It’s EVERYTHING. The admiration and understanding between them hit so deep—Aiden being this steady, ruthless figure in Landon’s life, guiding him in his own silent, intense way. I was eating up every moment they shared. And don’t even get me started on the sibling bond between Lan, Bran, and Glyn. The mix of love, teasing, and protectiveness was so real. Bran’s grounding presence, Glyn’s fiery attitude, and Lan’s intense yet caring side made their scenes such a treat.

Rina Kent didn’t just write a book—she gave us a world full of family, loyalty, and love that hurts so good. If you’re a sucker for unhinged, raw love stories with characters who break you and heal you all at once, Rina just gets it. No one writes like her, and I will happily worship at the altar of her angsty, deliciously toxic romance any day.
