Lips Touch: Three Times by Laini Taylor
5.0
This is a collection of three stories, each of which revolves around a momentous kiss.
In "Goblin Fruit," a young girl yearns for popularity and is tempted by a goblin in a cute-boy disguise.
In "Spicy Little Curses Such as These," Estella must bargain with a demon every day to save children who would otherwise die. In order to save an unprecedented 22 lives, Estella agrees to curse an infant. The young girl is doomed to kill whoever hears her voice, but the curse plays out in a surprising way.
In "Hatchling," Esme wakes up one day to find one of her brown eyes has shifted to blue. Her mother reacts with horror and fear, and they flee their home. Esme is about to discover why her mother never talks about her past.
Each story is preceded by illustrations by Jim Di Bartolo, which form a wordless prologue - usually describing the tale that each of these stories is based on. The illustrations are gorgeous, and the stories are fantastic. Highly recommended!
