Het Gouden Snoeimes by René Goscinny, Albert Uderzo

When the first comic left Obelix a bit too much out of the story (in my opinion), this comic made up for it.

Asterix and Obelix must travel to Lutetia for Panoramix. It is fun too see them leave their little village already in the second volume. This way, the writer can show us that his series isn't meant to stay in one place only.

In this volume, they show us lots of differences between a big city and a small town.
Some features we still experience today, are shown in a very familiar way.
The traffic, the bad smell, a lot of stores, and an awful lot of people in comparison with a small town.
This time, the story wasn't that simple as the previous one. It contained some mystery, which kept me wondering what just happened to the missing person in the story.
And as always, the humour was at its best. I always have to smile when Asterix gets in an argument with a Roman, and Obelix wants to help him by giving some hits to the face.

A fun story, which starts to explore the friendship between Asterix and Obelix.
The funniest for me was when Obelix' nephew finally shows up, and looks an awful lot like Obelix!
