The Silent Wife by A.S.A. Harrison
4.0
I quite liked this one. It was like a study of marriage between two people who have outgrown each other, aren't really likable people, and who are just comfortable with leaving things just the way they are. Todd is a cheater, abusive, manipulative, and just an all around dirt bag. He justifies his behavior constantly. Jodi is passive aggressive, kind of mediocre in her doings, and in denial about everything. But she's content with her life. So when Todd finally leaves because he impregnated his best friend's daughter, everything gets turned upside down (for the both of them!) when that content life they both lead has to change.
This is *not* a psychological thriller that every one claims it is. Don't compare it to Gone Girl. The only similarities are that the people are messed up. I like books like Gone Girl, so it was disappointing that this wasn't what was advertised. However, like I said, I enjoyed it for what it is.
