Wow. This book made me feel excited to read again. I think the very serious topics are addressed in a realistic but hopeful way. Monique, being a biracial woman currently going through a divorce was the perfect person to share the narrative with Evelyn, a bisexual Hispanic woman who has only ever loved one person in her life, and their marriage was never recognized. Goodness. The complexities of love, ambition, identity, and forgiveness were explored very well. I can definitely see this being a book club book; each individual chapter has so much material that it would be perfect to have weekly discussions about. Great book.
