Did not finish book. Stopped at 50%.
The book feels like a poor retelling of handmaids tale, but with an amount of autonomy that makes no sense considering the amount of control over the women the author wants us to believe

The main character is given so much freedom to act out, engage in vices, and travel to cheat on her husband while having the wristbands. I understand it's supposed to show how womens voices are under threat in the real world, but it feels as though it doesn't want to fully engage with women being oppressed by limiting freedom of movement, or freedom of expression completely. It just takes puritanism to its extreme without being extreme enough?
