Sweet and engaging.
I really enjoyed getting to know the diverse set of characters. I loved the premise and it was executed perfectly. The inclusion of Day of the Dead culture was really interesting for me and I loved the magical aspect as well, especially that there are a whole community of people that can see ghosts and get to see their loved ones again every year.
Though a lot of this book is fantasy, Yadriel's struggle for his family to accept him is all too real for some people and not everyone has the Goddess of Death to confirm their gender identity for them. Despite that it was still a wholesome ending, and of course I fell in love with Julian Diaz as well.
