Raised by a Serial Killer: Discovering the Truth About My Father by April Balascio

4.0

It's so hard to rate someone's life story - I go back and forth between 3-4 stars. Most of this book describes what it's like to be the child of a violent psychopath. Warning: there's a lot of spousal abuse, and child and animal abuse and neglect. It was hard to read at times, and not really surprising this guy ended up being a serial killer. April tells her life story, and then at about 60% into the book, she gets into the story of turning in her father and chasing down potential murders (they probably haven't identified them all.) Honestly, I could've used much more of the latter than the former, but it's her life and she gets to memorialize it how she wants.
