Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
4.0

14. A book about time travel that by designing a set of rules, the trip lasts as long as title coffee gets cold and can only be in one small cafe, creates a melancholy tale of missed opportunities, and fleeting moments. The most affecting of which is someone travelling to visit their partner before the onset of dementia. It deals with the traditional time travelling issue of mistakes not with them causing global catastrophes but profound moments of disappointment. It is a lovely book, both whimsical and quietly profound.
