A Widow's Story by Joyce Carol Oates

Did not finish book.
Some of the reviews of this book are appalling- why are you judging how JCO is grieving? That is not what book reviews are for.

Even though I am not a widow or even close to being one, losing Brandon feels like I lost a part of my heart. JCO's memoir feels very close to my own emotional experience as I had many of the same thoughts and feelings as she did, except Ray her husband was in his 70's and they had had a whole life together. No one can imagine what it is like to get the phone call you are most dreading in the middle of the night unless it has actually happened to you.
Her feeling like she never really knew her husband also strikes a painful cord, so many conversations left unfinished and experiences left untouched.
This book helped me feel not so alone in my grief.
- I listened to this on audio book and greatly enjoyed the narrator but I did not finish it because it was entirely too long-it would have been 14 hours long. Maybe I'll come back-
