The Accident by Natalie Barelli

2.0

I really enjoyed the author's style of writing. The dialogue and the pace of the story were good. I hurried through the book because I wanted to get out of the story's world as soon as possible. It wasn't a thriller as much as it was just perfectly awful to be a part of the main character's terrible journey. I did not enjoy the trip. Additionally, I felt like there was no catharsis at the end; the main character didn't seem to get any real revenge. Any consequences had by the villain happened "off-screen". We didn't get to experience that like we did the psychological torture of the main character. It was wrapped up in a few summary paragraphs. So much time was spent on each little twist and torture device of the villain - to get the few lines of "this is what happened to her" at the end was really disappointing.
