This was a fantastic sequel to Among the Hidden, and a really well-written children’s book.
In this story, Luke is given a new identity, gets shipped off to a school, and is told to simply blend in, despite that he’s never been to school before. He struggles with finding his classes and is constantly getting bullied. Then one night, he finds out that there’s more kids like him.
I love how fleshed-out all of the characters have been so far in this series. My heart broke so badly for Luke when he was getting bullied, and I loved seeing his character grow. At the start, we see him as this quiet shy kid, and at the end we see him finding his voice.
I’m actually pretty excited to see what happens next to Luke.
