Review: Welcome back to Purgatory Falls…beware this is not the warm cuddly welcome you’re expecting! Dakota and Grant were a blazing fire that left ashes of destruction in the wake of a blistering romance and YEARS of pent up tension in perfect Maggie Rwadon fashion! 𝔇𝔞𝔯𝔨 ℌ𝔬𝔯𝔰𝔢 had been an anticipated read for me since Maggie announced it and to say it exceeded expectations is an understatement! From the first word I knew the two of them were going to wring my heart dry since from the get go we learn pieces of the sordid past between Grant, Dakota and Jesse - Dakota’s late older brother. The mystery and suspense surrounding the events that led to Jesse’s demise were a hidden cornerstone of this book and Maggie was able to blend the intrigue wonderfully while also developing the feelings and forbidden romance between Dakota and Grant! 

 

𝔇𝔞𝔯𝔨 ℌ𝔬𝔯𝔰𝔢 is an interconnected stand alone that builds on some plot from book one but can be read by itself. The underlying plot to me though was one of the BEST and favorite parts of Dakota and Grant’s romance. Seeing the way these two go from HATE to lust to adoration and finally OBSESSIVE love was 100% fitting for who they each were to one another. Grant “The Devil” Stockton was tall, dark, handsome and full of every red flag your mother’s warn you away from. Seeing this broody hero fall HARD on his KNEES for Dakota left me giggling and swooning but also had me anxious for what Maggie would throw at them before they could get their deserved HEA. 

 

𝔇𝔞𝔯𝔨 ℌ𝔬𝔯𝔰𝔢 took the underlying plot challenges that she left open in Ramsey’s book and left us waiting for more answers while accepting the few tied ends she gave us. I was happy that the ones surrounding Grant were resolved since that man truly deserved to finally have a modicum of peace in his life but also wish that book 3 was already here! 𝔇𝔞𝔯𝔨 ℌ𝔬𝔯𝔰𝔢 was a dark Western romance that enthralled me from page one but left me with more questions than answers by then end! Seeing Charolette and her men again also left me in anticipation of their full book (hopefully) coming soon and I cannot wait to get some more answers surround that fiery group off Maggie’s too! 

 

Rating: 100+; 𝔇𝔞𝔯𝔨 ℌ𝔬𝔯𝔰𝔢 made me want to save a horse and find a cowboy, Maggie once again brought the heat in this one and nothing prepared me for the FIRE Dakota and Grant doused the pages in!
