Poison Princess by Kresley Cole
4.0
My thoughts are all over the place on this book. I was captivated, intrigued and baffled! When I started Poison Princess, I was a little confused at the switching of POV before and after the Flash (when you read it, you’ll understand). But once I got going, It was so hard to put down. This unique world that Ms. Cole created is something very cryptic, original and gripping. When I read the blurb on the cover I was expecting more romance in the book. There were a few heated scenes, but not exactly what I had expected. I still loved it. The secondary characters did more for me than Evie and Jackson. Evie just annoyed me a little bit up until the end. Jackson, well, he’s a breed of his own. I loved his Cajun French dialogue. He was a bad boy, but there was something to him that captivated me. I just loved Evie’s friend Mel. She cracked me up! I love character’s that have a quick tongue and supply laughs.
“But if they’re not together, then why does he keep staring at you? Like he hasn’t deposited enough mental images into his spank bank by now?”
She has a fun sense of humor and pretty much says what she wants, which I love. The other character that I really liked was Finn. He is total teen guy and just had me cracking up as well. I will say there was one character that REALLY got under my skin, and that was Selena. If I were Evie, I don’t think I could have contained myself LOL
This was so different than I had expected. In a good way though. It’s hard to explain. The world building and imagery was fantastic. I will be anticipating the second book without a doubt. My curiosity has been piqued, and I really can’t wait to see what will happen in the next installment.
