A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara

Did not finish book.
I'll eventually pick this up again, but reading it made me sick to my stomach, and skimming through others' reviews made me sicker.

This book is rough, graphic, and aggressively sad (I literally don't know how else to explain it other than every moment felt like a punch to the gut). You will want to sympathize with these characters and, as another reviewer noted, you'll be punished for this act. A Little Life is well-written, sometimes I wish it wasn't so I could love it a little less, but credit where it's due.

If you read this please look through the content warnings. You think you've seen everything and then Yanagihara pulls the curtain to show you that for every good act there is a plethora of worse ones. I only got through 200 pages of this book (and kudos to everyone who finished it because damn), but it convinced me that some people are just broken. I never used to believe that before.
