The four horsemen of the Apocalypse, Ares(war), Limos(Famine, Thanatos(death) and Reseph(Pestilence), all held in abeyance until their seals break bringing about the Apocalypse. Reseph's seal has broken and he is now Pestilence, spreading plague and death over the world. His only other goal is too break Ares seal and bring about War.
Cara our human sacrificial lamb is caught in the middle of all of this, Ares seal is protected by Unfallen Angels, but Pestilence is killing them off and as a last ditch effort to protect it the Angel puts it in Cara, humans aren't meant to bear it though and she has about a week to live, unless they can find someone to take it from her.
The relationship is pretty cute in this one and the fact that she bonds with a hell hound pup in entertaining. I wasn't sure I was going to continue reading into the entire Demonica series but this one hooked me and now I need to :)
