While those of us proletarians with class consciousness have a personal understanding of our system and our exploitation, there is nothing like reading Capital in order to ground these experiences both personally and in the context of historical materialism. Capital is a must-read, and it must be read with a group of comrades. We have nothing to lose but our chains, and we will unshackle ourselves more quickly and more clear-eyed after having read and discussed—and in applying to our practice—the words of Marx.
