Sakura's Story: Love Riding on the Spring Breeze by Tomohito Ohsaki, Masashi Kishimoto
4.0

Giving this a fairly high rating because I love this series so much and secondly due to the fact Sakura is best girl...

I was skeptical going into one of the novels, unsure of how it would portray the characters. Needless to say that I was very impressed and delighted that the characters transferred from manga to book form wonderfully.

Sakura really gets the worst at times - so it was great to see her shine and not rely on others(at time she thinks about it then realizes she's a strong, capable woman). My favorite thing about this was seeing more interactions between Sakura and Ino as friends, one of my favorite friendships in all media. Seeing how mystery of the romance between Ino and Sai started was also big plus since that couple was so unexpected for me.

My only gripes is Sakura's love for Sasuke. I always hoped she would realize she didn't need him in her life to be happy but she still continues to wait for him. The other issue would be the swapping of Sakura and Sasuke's names at points that were very odd and jarring.

Overall, fun read and definitely will be picking up the Itachi novels soon.
