Docile: Memoirs of a Not-So-Perfect Asian Girl

For me, personally, as a memoirist, and also a reader, I felt like the beginning half of the memoir is at odds with the later half. It lays the foundations, sure, but I think instead those foundations could be told in context of why these chapters are important. So much of the first half is telling; why does it matter? We get the answer to that question after her first institutionalization which is why the latter half is more compelling and (I would argue) important.
