Speak: The Graphic Novel by Laurie Halse Anderson

4.0

”Perfect trees don’t exist. Nothing is perfect, and flaws are interesting. Be the tree.”

I sat and read this in one sitting and now all I want to do is give Melinda a giant hug. Thankfully I have never been in this situation myself, but this gave some very meaningful insight as to how someone that has gone through this is feeling emotionally and physically. This book was highly impactful and eye opening and I think everyone, male and female, should read this. I’d be interested to see how it compares to the novel.

I thoroughly enjoyed the artwork. This was one of the better illustrated graphic novels that I’ve ever read!
