This is the conclusion to a great angsty romance trilogy! This book picks up immediately after the bomb that was dropped at the end of book 2.
Laurel finds herself in a difficult situation and theoretically based on the decisions she made, I should hate her character but I actually don't. In fact I kind of felt sorry for her and then I actually respected her. She was pretty honest and straightforward with Jack despite the consequences those truths may have on her marriage.
The intensity of Jack and Laurel's love was felt throughout the entire series and this book was the same.
Their love pulled them through some really dark times. Talk about a marriage being tested! This couple walked through the fire and came out stronger on the other side.
I'm happy that Isaac also found his happy ending. The interaction between him and Laurel is actually quite limited in this book. Their stories are kind of told separately in the book.
So while I loved this series, I don't think a third book was needed. It didn't really add that much more to the story. I was expecting to get more out of the murder investigation but that seemed to be fully wrapped up from book 2 because we didn't get anything more.
Overall, however, this was a great series! I loved all the drama that unfolded and all the angst and cliffhangers drove me crazy in the best ways. I got drunk on Laurel and Jack's passion for each other and their story kept me on the edge of my seat.
