I am very conflicted by this book. On one side it has the best dialogue I have ever read and the redemtion arc was 🤌🤌🤌 But on the other side......... I asked in a group if this book had "christian vibes" in it. The answers I got was "lmao absolutly not". So I continued my reading. And oh boy do we have a different meaning on what a "christian vibe" is 😂

****Spoilers below****

I felt Zoey in the beginning. I liked the way her mind worked and her persona made a fun read. But I cannot forgive that the second smartest girl in school would have unprotected sex THREE times (or were there more times?? I lost count lol) and then thinking abortion is off the table. 🤮

Carter is a real piece of work. He SA Zoey multiple times, but we got the missing pieces in the end. And like I said, his redemtion arc was on fire 🔥🔥🔥

He’s quiet for a moment, holding my gaze, then he says, “I’m not talking about City College, Zoey.” “That’s the only college in the city that—” He doesn’t let me finish. He cuts me off and steals all of my words by saying, “I got you an interview at Columbia.”

“But I’m nobody,” I say, shaking my head in disbelief. “I mean, yeah, I have the grades, but… I can’t believe they want to let me in. Just because you asked them to?” “Asked? I’ve fucking campaigned,” he says lightly.

I was giggling  like a schoolgirl when this happend 🥹🥹 The same for the epilouge 🥰🥰

This may not be my last Sam Mariano book.
