To start, I want to say that Bloody Sweet deserves a STRONG content warning for emotional and physical abuse, along with graphic bullying and suicidal ideation and threats. It goes without saying that it's also incredibly dark, with a focus on the similarities of the backgrounds of the main character (Naerim) and her vampire 'servant' (Fetechou).
When I originally picked up the webcomic, I thought that I was getting a somewhat silly little vampire romance. That wasn't the case. Instead, what I got was a comic that hit incredibly close to home and, although the tone can be a little jarring at times, it definitely carries the weight of heavy themes about being different, isolation, depression, and bullying. I can see why it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but for me, it just hit close to home and made me cry because I identified with Naerim so strongly.
Technically, this is... I think my fourth(?) re-read of the entire Bloody Sweet series. I bought the physical copies because of how personal it ended up being for me. For those looking for a light-hearted vampire romance, this is definitely not the case. Although it does try to balance humour and drama, it's not always successful (which is why I mean when I say that the tone can be somewhat jarring), but it's definitely heartfelt. It's one of my favourite love stories.
