The Story of You: An Enneagram Journey to Becoming Your True Self by Ian Morgan Cron

4.0

I would like to thank Netgalley for giving me an arc in exchange for an honest review
I did not know much about the enneagram prior to reading this book but i was i intrigued by the title and what insight the book could offer and i was not disappointed. I think the author delves deep into each of the personality types and how they approach life and deal with obstacles, success and their interactions with other people and he does it in a way that is very easy to read and understand. One of the things that really connected with me was the idea of telling ourselves stories. When we are younger, we tell ourselves certain stories of ourselves so that we can make sense of the world around us but as we get older, those stories only stifle us and he goes into the stories the different personality types tell themselves and how they can break free from that and live more fulfilling lives. He is a Christian and so he looks at things from a biblical worldview and if that's not your thing you may not enjoy it as much but overall i thought it was a really good read and it made me look inward and examine the story i have been telling myself and my experiences when i was younger.
