I loved the first books in this series, but this one now holds a special place in my heart. Healing from trauma is a grueling and heartbreaking journey, and I think the way it’s depicted in this novel was authentic and raw. This novel sunk its teeth into how complex it can be, and I think it was beautiful to see Nesta’s development — her steps forward and back as she tried to heal from trauma and as she made friends and learned about their trauma, too. I cried multiple times reading this book and I have to say, I will be rereading this as my favorite book in the series. I wish I had read this while I felt lonely when I was unpacking my own trauma, because I would have felt like I had a friend through the hardship. Highly recommend this book to anyone who is going through their own journey, has gone through their own journey. It’s beautiful and heart wrenching and so, so, so raw.
