I have been waiting for Kate and Jensen's book since we heard about the situation at the bar between them in book 1. I was dying to know what went down to make Kate's impression of him change so drastically. To finally learn what it was and how badly the situation had been judged was pretty laughable. I LOVED reading about these characters. I got a LITTLE frustrated with how much Kate was holding out. She had this image of the kind of man Jensen was and she was not budging on that one. I loved reading about Jensen and the type of man he actually is. He was SUCH a sweetheart to Kate. He treated her like a legit queen. I loved reading about his determination to get her to change her mind. I found myself rooting for him the entire time. Learning about Kate's background gave me good perspective on why she is the way she is. And man getting pregnant threw her a curveball- I think it made her that much more human instead of the work robot she had become. She was like a minor grump and Jensen was her knight in shining armor waiting for her to see what he could offer her. These two were HOT together.

Kate has found herself in the unthinkable situation. After fighting and denying her attraction to the man for 18 months, she can't fight it anymore. She is going to have to sleep with Jensen. Just to get him out of her system. The problem- now that they have she knows she will never feel like that with anyone else. He was EVERYTHING she had never experienced. But she reminds herself that he isn't the man she wants in her life. He uses and moves on- but then why does he text her and want to talk to try to clear the air? Why does he seem genuinely ok with the fact that she is now at his doorstep saying she is pregnant with his baby? Why has he now cleared his bedroom for her to sleep in, made her breakfast, read baby books and come to her appointments with her? He might not be who she is thinking he is. Especially when he says he wants to try things with her. He sees a future with her if only she will let him in. If only she will let her walls down and let him in. But can she get past her past? Can she let someone love her the way she deserves to be loved? Jensen has proven himself time and time again. It's her turn to show him what he means to her- hopefully she isn't too late.

Jensen is in a spot. The season is around the corner. His best friend/old teammate has retired and is getting married. And the one woman who he can't stop thinking about is now walking with him down the aisle. The woman who has him all wrong and yet he lets her think that way. In fact he provokes the thoughts more than he should. He can't help himself. But this thing between them is nuclear and he is dying to see if that will translate in real time. Fun fact- it does. They decide to go for it at the wedding. One and done- or at least that's what she says. Because what she doesn't know is he hasn't been with anyone for a minute and now that he has had her he doesn't plan on being with anyone but her. But now she is ghosting him. It's like it never happened. Then she is on his doorstep saying she is pregnant, and it's like the clouds have opened up on a rainy day. This is the in he needed. He can now show her the kind of man he truly is and how they could be great together. She slowly starts to open up and the more he starts to learn about her family, the more he understands her walls. But she still doesn't seem to understand his commitment. He is scared to walk away but knows he can't keep being  what she wants them to be. So he lays it on the line- he wants everything or nothing. The question is what will her answer be?

The tension and angst between these two was intense!! Like I said, I got a little annoyed with how much Kate was pushing him away BUT when we learned more about her family life I kind of got it. Jensen was patient and encouraging and such a wonderful partner- I am so glad Kate finally saw it. Wonderful job on this one Ruth- now onto Jessie. I can't wait to learn about this mystery girl who has him all in a tizzy.

I definitely recommend this one if you and the series for a fun, steamy, hockey filled book with strong FMCs and the men who fall to their knees for them!
