The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
5.0
Not all the characters are timeless, but the plot is inevitable.
Welcome to the Kvothe of Monte Cristo, where in my case you both can’t root for or against the main character, but you enjoy the journey along the way. I’m incredibly impressed how interested I was all the way through, though books like this really spoil shorter books and movies in general where I wonder why I don’t know each character intimately.
It was also great fun how the sentence syntax of the book influenced how I arranged words in my mind for a bit.
