Such a good classic noir story! I was tempted to give 4 stars as for me the crime in this wasn’t super enthralling. Personally rich people problems and blackmail doesn’t do it but the way this is written made me care about it. This book really is written so uniquely and so rich. That’s why I had to bump it up to 5. Alongside the fact this is such a classic book and really was genre defining.
