Maybe the best kind of a novel: one that presents a multifaceted, ambiguous story with more of the how that’s told than the what and with a strong power of suggestion. Writing is the most noble and ignoble of professions. There is so much history crammed into this book, the thought of writing a condensed (or expanded) review is overwhelming. In short, I loved it.
