A spicy why choose (established MMM turned MMMF) not-so-dark dark romance with BDSM and taboo kink representation (NCN, primal play, blood kink). The plot was fun; the twists were unexpected and well done! Lily was a great FMC and I understood her motivations throughout the book.
The miscommunication-trope influenced breakup led by West and facilitated by Zeke frustrated me to no end but the author did a decent job making it believable for their characters to react that way — but also solidified Xander as my favorite MMC of the trio. The timeline got a little murky after the breakup and the author needed a proofreader bc there were a few typos but all in all neither were too distracting.
My only big complaint is I wish we got the backstory of how Zeke, Xander, and West all got together. Like Zeke briefly explained how he was in foster care but it’s unclear if Xander and West were too or if he just met them while he was at his last foster home. There’s also hints that Zeke and Xander have matching/related tattoos but that’s not explained either. I wish we got that backstory even though it wouldn’t have done much for the plot… it could be a great prequel novella?
