Golden Goal by Marissa James
4.0

Rebecca is the Orlando Storm’s new physical therapist and Holt Abbott, the goalie for the Orlando Storm, is the last person she should be falling for. Her responsibility is to get him back in the net, not wanting to see what’s beneath that grumpy exterior. But the more time Rebecca spends with Holt, the harder it is to resist him. When Holt’s past comes back to haunt him, it threatens Rebecca and Holt’s future.

GOLDEN GOAL is the third book in the Orlando Storm series, but it can be read as a standalone. It was a pleasure getting to dive back into this world and get reacquainted with the Storm team. The Storm team, be it players, coaches, or support staff, are such a great group of people and a big family. They’re all welcoming to newcomers, making it an easy transition for new faces, and they’re also ready at any moment to step up for their colleagues when they’re in need. It’s a beautiful dynamic, and one that continues to be present in each book.

GOLDEN GOAL is Holt and Rebecca’s story. I love workplace romances, so this was definitely going to be an easy book for me to sink myself into. Both Holt and Rebecca have some history that makes their romance a bit more challenging, but it was great to see how they each supported the other as they learned how to heal and be together. GOLDEN GOAL isn’t a very spicy read, but there is palpable chemistry between the two main characters, and their dynamic is so sweet.

I love the supporting characters and can’t wait to see whose story Marissa will share next - I’m personally hoping it will be Sutton’s!

I would like to thank the author, Marissa James, of this advanced digital copy for the opportunity to read this novel in exchange for an honest review! All opinions expressed are my own.
