The Ark Plan by Laura Martin
3.0

Edge of Extinction, The Ark Plan was an exciting read. Do you like dinosaurs? This book has dinosaurs. Do you like survival stories? Check. How about nefarious governments lying to their citizens? Double check.

This energized book swings the readers through the adventures of compounder Sky Mundy who has only lived underground... until now. With her best friend and new acquaintance, Sky must complete a mission her father left for her five years ago. The only problem is to do so requires traveling through dinosaur infested lands.

The action is well written, the characters interesting and unique, and the sense of tension brings readers from start to finish at a steady pace. For the most part, the dialogue is realistic. Every once in a while there is a slip in the dialogue that made me think the characters aren't as bright as they're supposed to be, but it is to add to the humor, so I can't fault it at that. Waiting for the next book to find out what happens is going to be hard!

If you're a fan of Jurassic Park and dystopian futures, Edge of Extinction is for you.
