DNF at about 30% of the way through. Something felt wrong while trying to read this. Not just women being rude about other women (which there was a lot of), but something about the way the characters were written felt off. So when my headache from reading this book was at an all time high I decided to stop and actually look up this book and author. And as others have stated…the author is not a black woman like you are lead to believe. The characters felt like bad stereotypes for a reason, and it’s a bad reason. Maybe the author didn’t mean to do wrong but this is just bad. I just can’t read anymore.
Though I am interested in the food recipes…
