I really should have put this one down. I kept waiting for something different or exciting to happen.
Carlos has been resurrected from the dead. He seems to be the only one. (then he isn't) He works for the council of the dead. He is like law enforcement in the spirit of all those renegade cops we see in movies.
He is unsure of his past because he doesn't remember his life. He gets semi-closure in this. More questions unanswered.
He finds love and then has it ripped away.
Go for a vampire book. At least there is a definite evil in that.
