The Ever King by LJ Andrews

4.0

4.5. Did I watch pirates of the Caribbean too many times during my formative years? Yes. Did that influence how much I enjoyed this book? Probably.
I was pleasantly surprised by this. It isn’t like the best book in the world but I still loved it. The pacing was amazing and it kept me invested the entire time. It was slow burn enough for me to care about the relationship. The world building was complex but also easy to understand. I did cringe a few times and there were parts that were super predictable. But I did not foresee all those reveals at the end. Mostly rating it for the vibes and enjoyment factor, not so much the story itself. I need the next book asap.
