Wonderful audiobook with excellent narrators with Rebecca Norfolk as Iris Winnow and Alex Wingfield as Roman Kitt.
I really enjoyed the different side of a fantasy world by focusing on journalists being normal mortals going about their lives that are being affected by the gods' war. It was also nice to see how subtle magic is weaved into the world rather than people wielding it normally.
There's mention of folklore weaved in nicely to the story, and doesn't feel particularly stilted, and the pacing works quite well throughout.
Though some parts were predictable, the whole picture wasn't filled in so it did have its moments of shock for me!
With how it's ended, it's definitely tempted me to try and pick up Ruthless Vow soon, so I look forward to listening to that as soon as I can.
